An enclosed yard with entrances on Northumberland Street and York Street. Ordnance Survey maps indicate that there were 10 properties in the square, with number 6 marked as a "ruin" on the 1960 town plan. The properties were demolished in the 1960s to make way for the redevelopment of the area and the creation of the town's ring road.

Another Benson's Square was situated off Colne Street, Aspley.
