Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WRAY, BENJAMIN. Gunner. No 127421. 156th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Born Golcar, Huddersfield. Husband of Sarah Alice Wray, 8 Royd Street, Slaithwaite. Employed as a weaver by Messrs Ben Hall and sons, Milnsbridge. Was a member of the Scapegoat Hill bandroom. Enlisted November 1916. Embarked for France in May, 1917. Was seriously wounded and gassed on 22.12.1917. Died of wounds at No 46 Casualty Clearing Station on 27.12.1917. He was 35 years of age. Buried MENDINGHEM MILITARY CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 6, Row BB, Grave 47.
