Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HOBSON, BENJAMIN. Private. No DM2/135357. 648th Motor Transport Company, Army Service Corps. Born Farnley, Leeds. Eldest son of Mrs Hobson, The Grove, Binn Lane, Marsden. Attended Marsden Adult School. Employed as a fettler by Mr J. E. Crowther, Bank Bottom Mills, Marsden. Enlisted in August, 1914, and was discharged in January 1915. Re-enlisted in October, 1915, and went to East Africa in March, 1916. Died of Blackwater Fever, 6.9.1917, aged 28 years. Buried MOROGORO CEMETERY (90 miles west of Dar-es-Salaam). Grave location:- Plot 3, Row B, Grave 10.
