The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HILL, BEN. Private. No 24757. 8th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Kirkburton. Lived Lowgate, Kirkburton. Married, with six children. Had served in the old Militia. Died of wounds, 20.12.1917, aged 36 years. Buried LONGUENESSE (St. OMER) SOUVENIR CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 4, Row F, Grave 29.
ROH:- All Hallows Parish Church, Kirkburton.
