- HAIGH, AUGUSTUS DANIEL. Rifleman. No 43556. 16th Battalion, The County of London Regiment, attached to King's Royal Rifle Corps. Born 18 St. George's Square, Huddersfield, 1.2.1899. Son of Daniel and Edith Eliza Haigh, Longfield House, 236 Lockwood Road, Huddersfield. Educated Spring Grove Board School, Huddersfield, Secondary School and Hillhouse Higher Elementary School. Employed as a clerk. Single. Enlisted in the week before Easter, 1917. Wounded at Bullecourt, 27.8.1918. Died of his wounds at the University War Hospital, Southampton, 23.9.1918, aged 19 years. Buried EDGERTON CEMETERY, HUDDERSFIELD. Grave location:- 46, 120.
