Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

TOWNEND, ASA, MM. Private. No 117469. 38th Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps. Born Golcar. Son of Joe and Christiana Townend, 2 Hollin Hall, Golcar. Educated Crow Lane Board School, Milnsbridge. Employed by Messrs John Crowther and Sons (Union Mills), of Milnsbridge. Died of bronchial-pneumonia at the 3rd Canadian Hospital, Boulogne, on 28.11.1918. He was 24 years of age. Buried TERLINCTHUN BRITISH CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 12; Row A; Grave 8.
ROH:- St. John's Church, Golcar; Crow Lane Board School, Milnsbridge.
