The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

STOCKDALE, ARTHUR. Private. No 32229. Special Reserve Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment. Born 54 Northgate, Huddersfield. Educated Huddersfield Parish Church School. Husband of Clara Stockdale, 51 Fitzwilliam Street, Huddersfield. Employed as a leather currier. Enlisted 13.11.1916. Died from illness, contracted in France, on 3.11.1917 at Royds Hall War Hospital, Huddersfield. Buried EDGERTON CEMETERY HUDDERSFIELD. Grave location:- 35, 29G.
