The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

ROODHOUSE, ARTHUR. Deckhand. No 14802 D.A. Royal Naval Reserve. HM Drifter Silvery Harvest. Son of Mrs Roodhouse of Sudehill, New Mill, Holmfirth. Educated New Mill National School. Employed at Moorbrook Mills. An able pianist. Enlisted 11.10.1916. Drowned after a collision off Berry Head, 16.5.1918, aged 33 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated PLYMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
