The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

SMITH, ARTHUR LEWIS. Private. No 2464. 1/7th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Lived Golcar. Brother of Mr F. K. Smith, 5 Wellhouse Fields, Golcar. Killed in action near Ypres, 8.12.1915, aged 20 years. Buried BARD COTTAGE CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 1, Row D, Grave 20.
ROH:- St. John's Church, Golcar; Huddersfield Drill Hall.
Brother of Private WILLIAM HENRY SMITH reported missing, presumed killed, 16.9.1917.
