Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

KAYE, ARTHUR. Private. No 32850. 2nd Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. Formerly No 27974 West Yorkshire Regiment. Born Cumberworth. Son of Mrs Maria Kaye of Butterley, New Mill, Holmfirth. Had worked as a collier but, prior to enlistment, had been working on the Broadstones Reservoir. Enlisted in April 1916. Embarked for France just before Christmas, 1916. Invalided home in 1917 due to a sprained ankle. Returned to France in the autumn of 1917. Killed in action, 2.1.1918, aged 38 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
