Arthur Jackson (1888-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

JACKSON, ARTHUR. Guardsman. No 26395. 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards. Born Huddersfield 16.3.1888. Educated St. Andrews Church of England School. Married. Lived 40 North Bank, Fartown. Employed as a stone mason by Messrs Harrison and Battye of Linthwaite. Attended Gledholt Wesleyan Sunday School and was a member of the Young Men's Class. Enlisted August 1916. Killed in action at Bourlon Wood, 1.12.1917. Has no known grave. Commemorated CAMBRAI MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
