Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HEMINGWAY, ARTHUR. Rifleman. No R/18179. 2nd Battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps. Born Forrest Road, Huddersfield, 5.9.1893. Son of Mr and Mrs O. Hemingway, 28 Dale Street, Chapel Hill, Huddersfield. Educated at Hillhouse Council School. Employed as a leather worker by Messrs B. Crook and Sons, Fitzwilliam Street, Huddersfield. Was a member of the choir at St. Paul's Church, Southgate, Huddersfield. Single. Enlisted 27.1.1916. Killed in action at Nieuport on 10.7.1917, aged 23. Has no known grave. Commemorated NIEUPORT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
