Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

BURLEY, ARTHUR. Private. No 5887. 1/6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry. Born 6 Moorbottom Road, Thornton Lodge, Huddersfield. Son of Mr and Mrs Fred Burley, 23 Hill Top, Paddock. Educated at St. Thomas's Church of England School, Longroyd Bridge. Attended Thornton Lodge Wesleyan Sunday School. Employed at Priestroyd Mills as a woollen piecer. Single. Enlisted 3.7.1916. Embarked for France in November, 1916. Died of wounds at No 46 Casualty Clearing Station on 16.1.1917. Buried DERNANCOURT COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION. Grave location:- Plot 4, Row G, Grave 14.
ROH:- All Saints Church, Paddock.
