The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

CAMPNETT, ARNOLD. Acting Bombardier. No 117571. 256th Siege Battery Royal Garrison Artillery. Born Linthwaite, Huddersfield. Married. Lived Royds End, Linthwaite. Employed by Messrs George Mallinson and Sons Limited, Linthwaite. Was secretary of the Hoyle Ing Working Men's Club and served for a time on the committee of the Linthwaite Cooperative Society. Killed in action, 4.10.1917, aged 32 years. Buried in BUFFS ROAD CEMETERY, St. JEAN-LES-YPRES, BELGIUM. Grave location:- Row E, Grave 9.
