Allen Haigh (1887-1918)

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HAIGH, ALLEN. Gunner. No 80650. 244th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Born 8 Bank End, Nettleton Hill, Golcar, 19.7.1887. Eldest son of the late Sutcliffe and Ellen Haigh, 8 Bank End, Nettleton Hill, Golcar. Educated Scapegoat Hill Council School. Employed as a weaver by Messrs John Crowther and Sons (Union Mills), Milnsbridge. Single. Enlisted 15.5.1916. Killed in action, 4.10.1918, aged 31 years. Buried FIFTEEN RAVINE BRITISH CEMETERY, VILLERS-PLOUICH. Grave location:- Plot 2, Row G, Grave 15.
Brother of Private SUTCLIFFE HAIGH died of wounds, 12.4.1918.
