The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HAIGH, ALFRED. Private. No 41928. 1/5th Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment. Born Mexborough 10.12.1885. Educated at Mexborough schools. Husband of Clara Haigh, 1 Robinson's Yard, Bradford Road, Huddersfield. Employed as an agent for the Pearl Assurance Company, Huddersfield. Enlisted 12.4.1917. Killed in action in Belgium, 17.11.1917, aged 32 years. Buried HOOGE CRATER CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 14, Row C, Grave 16.
