Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WILKINSON, ALBERT ERNEST. Private. No 37888. 10th Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment. Born Newsome, Huddersfield, 25.2.1898. Only son of Ruth Wilkinson, 66 Towngate, Newsome. Educated Newsome National School. Employed as a cloth finisher by Messrs Lockwood and Keighley, Upperhead Mills, Huddersfield. Was a member of Newsome Working Men's Club. Single. Enlisted 18.10.1916. Killed in action, 13.10.1917, during the Battle of Passchendaele. He was 19 years of age. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
