March

  • Benjamin Haigh, innkeeper of Outlane near Huddersfield, declared bankrupt.

June

  • Death of Rev. Trotter, Vicar of Huddersfield.

October

  • 26th — John Green, farmer of Yeathom near Holmfirth, marries Miss Hannah Micklethwaite at Almondbury Church. At the same time, she "ordered the sexton to make a grave" for her stepfather (David Hampshire) who had died just prior to the marriage. After the ceremony, the couple went straight to Huddersfield Market to "buy meat for the funeral of the old Sire" and also "clothes for the nuptials". Her stepfather was buried the following day.
