HILL TOP ROAD. Slaithwaite. Late C18. Terrace, part of longer row. Hammer dressed stone. Quoins to Nos 17 & 19. Pitched stone slate roof (tabling to chimney of No 15). Two storeys. South elevation has: Nos 14 & 15: Ground floor: doorway with stone surround and tie-stones; two 3-light stone mullioned windows. First floor: two 5-light stone mullioned windows with central sash to each which breaks forward slightly. Nos 17 & 19: Ground floor: two 4-light stone mullioned windows. First floor: two 4-light stone mullioned windows. Inscription in blind panel, with stone surround half round arch with keystone, reads: "W I H 1763" (possibly reset) North elevation has: Ground floor: four 3-light stone mullioned windows; one 2-light stone mullioned window. First floor: three 3-light stone mullioned windows. Nos 13 & 1.5 were possible the barns to Nos 17 & 19 before conversion to dwellings.
