The following source list was originally available only on paper in one of the West Yorkshire Archive Service offices. It may have been compiled many years ago and could be out of date. It was designed to act as a signpost to records of interest on a particular historical subject, but may relate only to one West Yorkshire district, or be an incomplete list of sources available. Meetings for Baptist worship were established in 1790 from Salendine Nook using a barn near Bridge Street, owned by Benjamin Ingham, a mill owner who was a member of Salendine Nook Church.

In 1792 a chapel was built in Lockwood Road and was paid for entirely by Benjamin Ingham. The congregation was established in 1795.

In 1817 a Baptistery was added to the chapel (prior to this the congregation used the River Holme for baptisms) and in 1821 a Sunday School was built partly in front of the chapel.

In 1848 a new Sunday School was built in Hanson Lane and the one next to the chapel was demolished in 1849. The chapel was also rebuilt between 1849-1851 and the Sunday School was enlarged in 1864.

By 1869 the chapel was being enlarged and a new Sunday School was built behind it. Chapel vestries and a new sewing room were built over them in 1887.

The Sunday School in Hanson Lane was sold to the WMCA in 1947; it later became the British Legion Headquarters.

In the late 1980s the chapel and Sunday School were refurbished and reopened in 1988.

The church is still in existence in 2009.
