Now known as Inbirchworth Methodist Church

Ingbirchworth was a preaching centre in Barnsley Wesleyan Methodist Circuit 1809. A new chapel was built in Penistone Road in 1829.

Between 1893-1894 a new chapel was built next to the old one and the old chapel was used as a Sunday School from 1894.

The church is still in existence in 2009.

Records relating to this church can be found at the West Yorkshire Archive Service: Kirklees office under the reference numbers NM/DD/CW, KC710, KC845, WYK1083/1/6, WYK1510.
