Established by Wesleyan Reformers who seceded from Wesleyans c1849.
Various houses were used for services and meetings between 1849-1854.
A chapel was built in Over Lane in 1854; this road later became known as Upper Lane and the chapel was said to have been built in a very short time- variously said to be six to ten weeks.
The chapel closed in 1995.
