The following source list was originally available only on paper in one of the West Yorkshire Archive Service offices. It may have been compiled many years ago and could be out of date. It was designed to act as a signpost to records of interest on a particular historical subject, but may relate only to one West Yorkshire district, or be an incomplete list of sources available. Established in rented premises in 1872, the Battye Street Board School, Battye Street was built in 1873. It became known as the Battye Street Council School from c1902 and then Battye Street County Infants School, it closed in 1995.

The earliest log books for the shcool date from the opening of the girls school in 1874 and the boys school of the same year. Battye Street Evening School opened October 1893.
