- Probably George Edward French (1898-1987). Born 6 January 1898, son of whitesmith George William French and his wife Margaret Thornton of Leeds Road, Bradley. Served in the 21st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment) during First World War (service number 331602).
