A Lepton Landmark

The Church of St. John the Evangelist at Lepton, standing about 700ft. above sea level, is a familiar local landmark. Although Lepton is of some antiquity the present church dates only to 1868, but within its porch, where it has been placed to save it from further ravages of the weather, in the base of the old Lepton Cross, which formerly stood at the end of Rowley Lane.
