Bertram Mills' Circus & Menagerie

Publicity booklet for Bertram Mills' Circus & Menagerie, who performed at Moldgreen (probably Ravensknowle Park) in September 1934. During the first performance on 6 September, a female member of the "Great Wallendas" high-wire act had to be carried down when she suddenly collapsed during the performance. She recovered overnight and was able to perform on the remaining two days.

The circus is also known to have performed locally in:

  • July 1937 at Wakefield Road, Dalton (likely Ravensknowle Park)
  • July 1946
  • July 1949 at Greenhead Park
  • September 1952 at Greenhead Park
