Harry Mellor
Damaged photograph. On the reverse is written, "Mr Harry Mellor, 4 Fountain Grove, Hudder..."
This was local swimming instructor Harry Mellor (1895-?) who is known to have been residing at 4 Fountain Grove at the time of his marriage to Ethel Dowson in February 1922. Mellor had served in the Royal Navy during the First World War and was likely aboard the HMS Bellerophon during the Battle of Jutland in May 1916.
