Flood Oak, Holmbridge, Holmfirth.
Undated photo postcard of the Flood Oak, Digley. It was reportedly one of the few trees in the immediate area to survive the devastating flood of February 1852.
In later years it was claimed that a man survived the flood by climbing the tree, but this is almost certainly apocryphal as it is not mentioned in any contemporary reports of the event.
The viewpoint is looking east towards (Middle) Digley Mill.
