Bradford Road, Shearing Cross
An undated photo postcard and a photograph of a row of properties near to the junction of Bradford Road and Halifax Old Road at Shearing Cross, near Fartown.
The items belonged to Harry Mellor (born 1895), a "Professor of Swimming", who lived in the middle property (139 Bradford Road) with his wife Ethel and their daughter Muriel from 1922 until at least 1939.
The gable end of the right-hand property (now 141 Bradford Road) was later rebuilt at an angle to allow for Bradford Road to be widened, as shown in the second image.
