Studio Portrait
Carte de visite by John Thomas Pentney (1855-1937) of South Parade, Huddersfield. Pentney was born in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, but settled in Huddersfield with his family circa 1900. Both the 1901 and 1911 Census returns list the family residing at their shop at 6 South Parade. On the reverse of the photograph is written J. Pyrah in pencil. Her age was written as either 14 or 15 (one age was written over the over, but it is impossible to tell which is the correction).
